Mrs. George W. Miller died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Forinash in West Chester, Iowa, after an illness of several months. Mrs. Miller had made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Forinash for about four years and was a former resident of Raymondville.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Forinash and Mrs. T. A. Smallwood of Raymondville: and by four sons, Emory and William Miller of Marlinton, West Virginia; and Harper and Basil Miller both of Raymondville. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, one of whom is Mrs. John Gobble of Houston, and by several grest- grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Raymondville Methodist Church with Mrs. Sadie Miles and the Rev. Lloyd Tyree officiating and burial in the Allen cemetery.

Basil Miller, 95, son of George W. and Lavina Miller, was born Aug. 20, 1905, at Marlinton, W.Va. He died Oct. 12, 2000, at Life Care Center of Waynesville.
Mr. Miller's parents traveled by wagon to Raymondville when he was a small boy. He grew up in the Raymondville community and married Bernice Vollmar.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Alvin, Bill, Harper and Emery; and two sisters, Blanch and Bertha.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Services were Oct. 14 at the Evans Funeral Chapel with the Rev.. Wesley Wallace officiating. Burial was in the Allen Cemetery.

Notes for BERNICE EVELYN VOLLMAR:
Bernice Evelyn Vollmar, 90, daughter of William Odius Vollmar and Hester Martin Vollmar, was born July 7, 1914, at the old Doc Reed place northwest of Oscar. She died Jan. 20, 2005, at Houston House after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
She attended school at Vollmar through the eighth grade and attended church as a child at the Vollmar schoolhouse. She and her mother attended the Raymondville Methodist Church.
At age 16, she married Basil Miller of Raymondville. They moved to Tulsa, Okla., where he worked for an oil company. They spent more than 50 years together in a special loving relationship even though being divorced.
Ms. Vollmar went to St. Louis, where she worked for Liggett-Myers Tobacco Co. When she returned to Raymondville in 1943, she purchased a house and 20 acres on what is now Orchard Street. She cared for her parents until their deaths in 1956 and 1991 and operated Evans Funeral Home in Raymondville until it closed.
She worked at the Lee Co., retiring in 1976.
She was a member of the Blue Heaven Club organized in 1937. The club operated a hamburger stand at the Raymondville Picnic, using the proceeds to purchase the first fire truck for Raymondville and support various school projects.
She was an avid turkey hunter. In 1984, she killed a 26-pound gobbler with five separate beards. She also gardened, loved cooking and cared for her mother after her retirement.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Gladys Wood, Vera Hassell and Audery Smith.
Surviving are two brothers, Andy Vollmar of Bokeelia, Fla., and Wayne Vollmar of Collinsville, Ill.
Services were Jan. 25 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Vollmar officiating. Burial was in the Vollmar Cemetery

Born in Monterey, Virginia, January 27, 1905, she was the daughter of Andrew and Caroline Simmons Beverage.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Beverage; a daughter, Juanita Carr, and a son, French Beverage; two sisters, Fannie Beverage and Florence Mills; and seven brothers, Pinkney Beverage, Charles Beverage, Jess Beverage, Kent Beverage, Martin Beverage, Dennis Beverage, and Willie Beverage.
Survivors include eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday at VanReenen Funeral Home by Charles Triplett and Jack Burks, with burial in Cochran Cemetery.

Goldie M. Galford Beck, age 86, of Los Angeles, California, passed away February 21, 2002, at the Culver West nursing home, after a year's illness.
She was born August 18, 1915, at Woodrow, the daughter of the late Emmett G. and Lanie Beverage Galford. Goldie was the eldest of nine children.
She married John M. Beck, of Baltimore, Maryland, in 1946, who preceded her in death in 1963. Also preceding her in death besides her husband and parents were three brothers, Albert, Delbert, and Garland, and one sister, Azalea Scalise.
She is survived by two brothers, Milburn Galford, of Yucaipa, California, and Eugene Galford, of Marlinton; two sisters, Ruth Golby, of Los Angeles, California, and Jewell Loughridge-Deason, of Roseville, California.
She became a Christian at an early age and remained faithful during her lifetime as a Nazarene.
After various vocations, she chose a career in aircraft, working at Glenn L. Martin in Baltimore, Maryland, and Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown, Maryland. She moved to California from Hagerstown where she continued her career in aircraft as an inspector at Lear Corporation, in Santa Monica, until retirement.
Funeral services were held at the Chapel of The Chimes, Inglewood Memorial Park Cemetery, with Rev. Clarence Crites. Interment was in Ingelwood Park Cemetery, Inglewood, California.

Fred James Sharp, age 65, of Pleasanton, Texas, died March 30, 1999, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, after a heart attack and heart by-pass surgery.
He worked as a driller on an oil rig until he was disabled by an accident.
Born in Marlinton May 28, 1933, he was the son of the late Fred D. and Roxie Galford Sharp.
He was preceded in death by both parents; an infant brother and sister; two sisters, Edith Hively and Ada Wilson; and two brothers, Walter Sharp and Frank Sharp.
Fred is survived by two sons, Jackie Eugene Sharp, of Elkton, Maryland, and Fred James Sharp, II, of Bloomington, Texas; two daughters, Pamela Leigh Shelby, of Manetta, South Carolina, and Bonnie Lou Sharp, of Pleasanton; four granddaughters, a grandson, and a great-grandson; one sister, Grace Hanna, of Hillsboro; two brothers, Calvin Sharp, of Weems, Virginia, and Eddie Sharp, of Hambleton.
His body was cremated.

Mrs. Davis was the widow of Page Davis.
She was born in Marlinton April 16, 1907, the daughter of the late Boude E. and Effie Loudermilk Beverage.
She was a homemaker and a member of the United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Loudermilk, three brothers, Lee Beverage, Frank Beverage, and Dan Beverage, and a granddaughter, Linda Mullens.
Surviving her are three daughters, Edith Beverage, of Urbanna, Virginia, Eva Jane Mullens, of Emporium, and Neva Shifflett, of Richmond, Virginia; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday in Mountain View Cemetery by Robert Mann.
Visitation will be at VanReenen Funeral Home before the services on Thursday from 12:30 to 2 p. m.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Cass United Methodist Church by the Rev. Tom Hill. Burial was in the Arbovale Cemetery.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, Thurman W. Gibson and Norman L. Gibson; and an infant sister, Ozila Gibson.

Born on May 16, 1919, in Marlinton, he was a son of the late George Amos Beverage and Emma Lucy Woods Beverage.
On June 9, 1946, he married the former Ruth Valara Sheets, who survives.
Survivors also include one daughter, Sharon Jerden, of Weston; one son, Larry Beverage, of Denver, Pennsylvania; one brother, Clyde Beverage, of Charleston; two granddaughters, one grandson, four great-grandsons, and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Judy Elaine Burkhammer; two brothers,Wilbur and Clinton Beverage; and one sister, Gatha Dobeck.
Mr. Beverage retired from the Kroger Company as a truck driver with almost 26 years service. He served four years with the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the Stonecoal United Methodist Church; Weston Masonic Lodge No. 10, A.F. & A.M.; Bigelow Chapter No. 4, Royal Arch Masons; St. John's Commandery No. 8, Knights Templar; and Nemesis Temple, A.A.O.N.M.S. of Parkersburg.
Funeral services were held Sunday, November 17, from the Boyle Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William Dawson officiating. Interment followed in the Weston Masonic Cemetery. Masonic graveside rites were accorded by Weston Masonic Lodge No. 10, A.F. & A.M.
