Mrs. George W. Miller died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Forinash in West Chester, Iowa, after an illness of several months. Mrs. Miller had made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Forinash for about four years and was a former resident of Raymondville.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Forinash and Mrs. T. A. Smallwood of Raymondville: and by four sons, Emory and William Miller of Marlinton, West Virginia; and Harper and Basil Miller both of Raymondville. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, one of whom is Mrs. John Gobble of Houston, and by several grest- grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Raymondville Methodist Church with Mrs. Sadie Miles and the Rev. Lloyd Tyree officiating and burial in the Allen cemetery.

Basil Miller, 95, son of George W. and Lavina Miller, was born Aug. 20, 1905, at Marlinton, W.Va. He died Oct. 12, 2000, at Life Care Center of Waynesville.
Mr. Miller's parents traveled by wagon to Raymondville when he was a small boy. He grew up in the Raymondville community and married Bernice Vollmar.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Alvin, Bill, Harper and Emery; and two sisters, Blanch and Bertha.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Services were Oct. 14 at the Evans Funeral Chapel with the Rev.. Wesley Wallace officiating. Burial was in the Allen Cemetery.

Notes for BERNICE EVELYN VOLLMAR:
Bernice Evelyn Vollmar, 90, daughter of William Odius Vollmar and Hester Martin Vollmar, was born July 7, 1914, at the old Doc Reed place northwest of Oscar. She died Jan. 20, 2005, at Houston House after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
She attended school at Vollmar through the eighth grade and attended church as a child at the Vollmar schoolhouse. She and her mother attended the Raymondville Methodist Church.
At age 16, she married Basil Miller of Raymondville. They moved to Tulsa, Okla., where he worked for an oil company. They spent more than 50 years together in a special loving relationship even though being divorced.
Ms. Vollmar went to St. Louis, where she worked for Liggett-Myers Tobacco Co. When she returned to Raymondville in 1943, she purchased a house and 20 acres on what is now Orchard Street. She cared for her parents until their deaths in 1956 and 1991 and operated Evans Funeral Home in Raymondville until it closed.
She worked at the Lee Co., retiring in 1976.
She was a member of the Blue Heaven Club organized in 1937. The club operated a hamburger stand at the Raymondville Picnic, using the proceeds to purchase the first fire truck for Raymondville and support various school projects.
She was an avid turkey hunter. In 1984, she killed a 26-pound gobbler with five separate beards. She also gardened, loved cooking and cared for her mother after her retirement.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Gladys Wood, Vera Hassell and Audery Smith.
Surviving are two brothers, Andy Vollmar of Bokeelia, Fla., and Wayne Vollmar of Collinsville, Ill.
Services were Jan. 25 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Vollmar officiating. Burial was in the Vollmar Cemetery

Mrs. Beverage was a member of Mt. Kinnison Church of God and Senior Citizens of Marlinton.
Born in Monterey, Virginia, January 27, 1905, she was the daughter of Andrew and Caroline Simmons Beverage.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Beverage; a daughter, Juanita Carr, and a son, French Beverage; two sisters, Fannie Beverage and Florence Mills; and seven brothers, Pinkney Beverage, Charles Beverage, Jess Beverage, Kent Beverage, Martin Beverage, Dennis Beverage, and Willie Beverage.
Survivors include eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday at VanReenen Funeral Home by Charles Triplett and Jack Burks, with burial in Cochran Cemetery.
