Mattie Wheeler Higgins

Mattie  W. Higgins, age 89, of Edray, Rt. 1, Marlinton, died Friday, January 28, 2000, at Alleghany Regional Hospital,
Low Moor, Virginia. She was a member of Edray United Methodist Church. Born June 5, 1910, at Marlinton, she was
the  daughter  of  the  late  George and Virgie Bright Wheeler. Her husband, Carl Higgins, a sister, Lillie Shinaberry,
and  a  brother,  Noel Wheeler,  preceded her in death. Survivors include her son, Charles R. Higgins, at home; four
sisters,  Eula  Friel  and  Nora Miller, of Marlinton, Edith Nelson, of Renick, and Zoe Sharp, of Jarrettsville, Maryland.
Funeral services were held Monday at Edray United Methodist Church by the Robert Mann. Burial was in the Wilfong
Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to the Edray United Methodist Church.
